TSPC licensed Social Worker assigned by the District Federal Programs' Department to work with schools on reducing student issues that hinder classroom instruction and student achievement. Position is linked to Title 1 Elementary Schools.
- Plan and development of social-emotional learning program objectives.
- Assist with acquistion and planning that will improve quality of services that agencies provide to students based on need.
- Plan duties of classified social skills learning facilitators.
- Provide individual or group counseling for children who are experiencing problems in the school community.
- Assist families with connecting to community services that may assist in the remediation of school-centered problems.
- Facilitate communication between parents and schools regarding behavior and social-emotional issues and goals.
- Provide collaboration and consultation regarding student problems and coordinate plans and actions to remediate them.
- Facilitate the involvement of community agencies in efforts toward the remediation of student problems in schools.
- Provide professional development to staff.
