Along with school leadership, supports programs that teach problem solving techniques and strategies that reduce behavioral distractions. Teaches staffs, parents, students, and partners in education skills that make school safer, more efficient, and improve achievement. May include working with existing programs like Character Counts, PBIS, and Second Steps. May include referral procedures for requesting additional services for students and families (mental health, physical health, social services, etc.)

Physical ability to adhere to OSHA and district safety regulations. Work within the district’s communicable disease control plan (blood borne pathogens) and be aware of the existence and potential exposure to hazardous chemicals as identified on the MSDS sheets. This position is considered a safety sensitive position.

The Social Skills Learning facilitator may perform the following duties:

• Support implementation of social emotional learning curriculum through data collection and review, presenting SEL programs, working with Licensed School Social Worker to facilitate programing
• Provide skill development and/or case management for children and their families as directed by Licensed School Social Worker
• Consult with teachers, administrators and other school staff regarding social and emotional needs of students
• Coordinate family, school and community resources on behalf of students
• Report any safety concerns to school administrators and Licensed School Social Worker
• Other duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree prefered.
