GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Provide assistance to assigned schools with psychological evaluations, instructional
planning, behavioral service support, and staff development
activities.
Knowledge of K-12 Special Education
Knowledge of child growth and development at each level of instruction
Knowledge of standardized assessment administration/interpretation/diagnosis
Physical ability to adhere to OSHA and district safety regulations. Work within the district’s communicable disease control plan (blood borne pathogens) and be aware of the existence and potential exposure to hazardous chemicals as identified on the MSDS sheets. This position is considered a safety sensitive position.

 

EDUCATION: M.S Degree or Higher

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Complete special education evaluations and written reports.
2. Interpret evaluation data, progress monitoring data, psychological reports, psychiatric reports, and special education documents for teams and staff.
3. Integrate evaluation data into a clear, organized and educationally relevant evaluation report in the district’s format/template.
4. Use a variety of assessment tools to assess academic skills, cognitive ability, psychological processing, adaptive skills, social skills, and emotional/behavioral status.
5. Provide consultation to teachers regarding instructional, behavioral, and social interventions.
6. Provide staff development inservices concerning assessment, instruction, and intervention strategies.
7. Communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with students, parents and staff.
5. Assist schools with Eligibility Discussions and IEP development.
6. Establish and maintain positive, flexible, and cooperative relationships with teachers, school administration, and district staff.
7. Facilitates and acts as a district representative at problem solving, IEP, and eligibility meetings.
8. Participate in professional growth activities.
9. Comply with school district policies and procedures.
10. Perform physical requirements unaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodation.
11. Willingness to be a contributing member of a highly effective team by demonstrating commitment, flexibility, positivity, collaboration and sense of humor.
12. Work to establish open lines of communication with students, parents and colleagues concerning both the academic and behavioral progress of students.
13. Use technology fluently to manage all components of the job requirements.
14. Maintain regular on-time attendance.
15. Submit reports, records, and assignments promptly and effectively meeting all district timelines.
16. Attend and participates in weekly department meetings.
17. Perform related duties as assigned by the director.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Oregon Personnel Services license with School Psychologist endorsement.
  2. Master's degree in school/educational psychology from an accredited college or university.
  3. Ability to work with children, parents, and school personnel.
  4. Dependable transportation, current driver’s license and good driving record.

 

COMPENSATION:

  • 190 day contract
  • Family medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance
  • 6% PERS paid by District
  • $42,632* base salary (2020-2021 base salary) 

 *2021/2022 salary is dependent upon contract negotiations.
